Meet The Medea Cast & Crew!

NOËL NEEB (director)

began her directing and producing career at Capitol Repertory Theatre. After moving to NYC, Noel co-founded RoaN Productions and has since been launching new works and classics Off-Off Broadway, nationally and internationally.

She gained critical acclaim for directing the European Premiere of GRASMERE at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, TOUGH GUYS DON'T SHOOT BLANKS at the Fringe NYC at the Barrow Street Theatre and DISILLUSIONED at the Midtown International Theater Festival (picked up for an extended run & Winner, Top 3 Short Subject Plays). 

She is an Associate Member of Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, a Lincoln Center Director's Lab Alumna and has studied  with Jean-Guy Lacat and viewpoints creator Mary Overlie.

SAMRAT CHAKRABARTI (Jason)

Samrat holds an MFA in Acting from A.R.T./Moscow Art Theater School Program at Harvard University. He has done dozens of Guest Star and Recurring Roles on American TV shows, including: 30 Rock (NBC), In Treatment (HBO), Damages (FX), A Gifted Man (CBS), Bored to Death (HBO), Law and Order (NBC), The Sopranos (HBO) and All My Children (ABC). He has been consistently working in films, both Hollywood and Independent, ranging from Spike Lee's She Hate Me to Amyn Kaderali's Kissing Cousins to Bruce Leddy's The Wedding Weekend to Joseph Castelo's The War Within (which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award).

In the last few years, he's been working on quite a few international projects, the list includes: Deepa Mehta's film adaptation of Salman Rushdie's Midnight Children, Manish Acharya's Loins of Punjab Presents (with legendary actress Shabana Azmi), Kabir Khan's New York (produced by Yash Raj Films), Joseph Matthew's Bombay Summer and Italo Spinelli's Gangor (produced by RAI Cinema). Critics named Samrat as one of the top six fresh faces to emerge from Toronto International Film Festival 2009, for his breakout performance as Krishna in Claire McCarthy's The Waiting City (with Hollywood actress Radha Mitchell). In February 2010, the actor made the winner's list of Triangle Media Group's Global Awards, which honor South Asian achievements in both arts and sciences. Other honorees included Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, Nobel prize-winning economist Amartya Sen, Bollywood Director Ashutosh Gowariker, Actor Irrfan Khan, Actress Nandita Das, Director Anurag Kashyap, Actress Lisa Ray, and Hollywood Producer Ashok Amritraj.

Samrat is also an established international musician and has won numerous awards for his music, including: a U.S. CARA for Best Original Pop/Rock Song, for his composition, What's It All About.

RACHEL McKINNEY (Medea)

Rachel is best known for portraying Dorothy Wordsworth in the critically acclaimed European Premiere GRASMERE at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Dottie Haines in TOUGH GUYS DON'T SHOOT BLANKS at the Barrow Street Theater for the Fringe

LARRY LOONIN (Father)


Larry was a member of the acting company in William Ball's OBIE winning production of SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR first presented at the Martinique Theater. FILM: THE SCOUT, Yvonne Rainer's THE MAN WHO ENVIED WOMEN, THE FIRST DEADLY SIN, TV:  RESCUE ME, THE GOLDEN HONEYMOON, ANOTHER WORLD, RYAN'S HOPE and LOVING.

ERIC CHASE (Aegeus)

 
He is an actor, director and producer. Eric is also the Managing Director of Bakerloo Theatre Project (www.bakerloo.org), member of Emerging Artists Theatre, TheatreRats, and AEA. 

He teaches stage combat workshops for Young Actors Guild at RPI.

THEATER: Gaev in Cherry Orchard, Caliban in Tempest, Macbeth in Macbeth, Solyony in Three Sisters, and Puck in Midsummer Night's Dream. FILM: Shelter in the Storm, Dot the Movie, Crooked Symphony, Alyssa, amd his greatest claim to fame is being knocked out on One Life to Live.

ROB GORDEN (Chorus)


Rob is originally from the Boston area but has lived in New York for over a decade. While in NYC he has worked as a comedian, storyteller and actor.

He has been in several independent films, including low budget horror classic “Drainiac.” 
 

He has been seen on SpikeTV, The Food Network, Nick at Night, The Onion News Network, Oxygen, and the Showtime series “The Big C” starring Laura Linney.

Rob is married to Kelley and has two cats, Bonnie and Clyde.

LAURIE BIRMINGHAM (Chorus)

Laurie moved to NYC last year and hasn't looked back. Recent theatrical work includes: 
Mrs. Welch in A LITTLE JOURNEY with The Mint Theatre, Reverend Mother in Danny Goggin's musical "Nunset Blvd" and Mrs. Bennet in a lovely production of "Pride and Prejudice" with Connecticut Repertory Theatre. Laurie is a narrator for Recorded Books here in NYC and can be seen on one of the Onion News Network episodes being her funny self. *AEA

KATRINA HERRMANN (Stage Manager)


Katrina Herrmann is a proud native of Illinois, and is glad to be working with RoaN Productions again.  She has worked for Playwrights Horizons, The Public, Theatreworks/USA, Summer Theatre of New Canaan, the stageFARM, Rattlestick Playwrights Company and Naked Angels.
